Wow! Thanks so much for this information. I found that I am descended from the U.S. Titus's through my great-great grandfather Edgar Titus Ely, but am having trouble finding the links between Robert and Stephen, who was married to Cynthia Hubbard. What does it mean when it says Stephen, o56?
I tried emailing you from a U.S. Yahoo site, but the system didn't recognize the Canadian address!
Thanks again, Jean - happy to be your cousin!

New Brunswick Titus

Thanks for your comment on the New Brunswick Titus line. The website that you mentioned that gave George Albert Titus as the father of Atherton G. Titus was correct. In fact, George Albert and his wife, Mary Hannah (Harrett), had 11 children: Atherton G., Isaac K., Wentworth L., Horace L., LeRoy P., Lila I., Wesley G., Clifford A., Stanley Q., Theora M., and Emery A. Canadian census records for the family clearly list these children.

If you will contact me directly through the Contact section of this site I can provide you with more details.
I need help finding my ancestors

Hi, i am a titus that lives in ontario and my family originated from New Brunswick. My Grandpa was Albert Leslie Titus, my great Grandpa was Frank Lebaron Titus and my great great grandpa was Atherton G Titus. I have reseached and found that after Atherton, there is no info. If you could please help me find Atherton's father and even more would be helpful, it would be great. One website suggested that his father was George Albert Titus but further research shows that George does not have a son. If you could help it would be great, Thanks
Referred my mom to your site

Grandaughter to a Charles Martin Titus (Bonesteel, South Dakota) who doesn't appear to have found his way to your database, so I've referred my mom to your site to see if she can fill in the blanks. Her gift to my family, happily now three generations removed from her, has been decades of Titus research.
Thank you for bringing your site to the web.

Nebraska Titus' in search of my Grandpa who went AWOL around 1921

Well today I finally went to the cemetary in Nemaha to get you some accurate information. I have a lot of stuff for you so I will email you with it all. One really interesting thing I found on my Great Grandpa James A. Titus was in a book written by J. Sterling Morton and I have copied the text (had to type it, couldnt just copy and paste) but I will send it to you. It was written in 1897. I have still not located my Grandpa but while I was at the cemetary I ran into someone who knew the family in Nemaha and she said that my Grandpa left my Grandma because she was always crabing at him so he left and went to Oregon and started a new family. So needless to say.. I am on a new mission. Your site is AWESOME. You have really worked your butt off on this... YOU ROCK COZ!!!!

You have done a magnificant job of putting all the Titus's in one place. We have talked before on Genforum. You have been in touch with my cousin Ruby Mayhew who passed away 3 years ago. We are from the line that is in Texas. Ebenezer, James, Andrew Jackson, Tobe Titus, Ebb Titus, Wilma Titus Ivey. Her huband gave me all the info she had gathered and I am in process of updating all the 1st cousins from Ebb and Myrtle Titus of Avery Texas in Red River County. They are all buried in Savannah Cemetary along with Andrew Jackson Titus of which Titus County in Texas is named. I would love to get in touch with you. Great Job, first of all.

It's difficult to name everyone and keep up to date on so many births, marriages, divorces and deaths, but you did try!!! My dad is listed with a wife he was married to for about a year during WWII...........she left him and married his best friend while he was fighting. He later married my mom and had us 3 kids. I know it's probably the same story in MANY families.
Keep up the great work and post if you need more info.

I just stumbled across your site while surfing for genealogy items completely unrelated to the Titus name. All I can say is, "WOW!" What a fabulous gift. You and those who have helped you, have created a gem of a tribute to past, present, and future family members. You should be proud of your efforts. Inspirational! And you have re-stoked my fire to continue my own efforts. God bless you and your endeavors.
Connection of People
11 Wednesday, 25 February 2009 21:40
I have not posted my database because there are living people in it. I am hoping my index will be sufficient enough for people to connect their families, and if more data is needed they can contact me directly and we can work together to fill in the gaps. In this case I have Sarah's parents as John Titus and Sally Norton.

E-mail me and I'll send you my file.

Hello - I just discovered your website. It's very interesting. However, I don't see how someone browsing your site can find connections between people. I have an ancestor Sara Titus (number y95) on your site who was married to Daniel Youngs Townsend (number u108). I find them on the index, but I don't see a way to connect her to her parents. Could you help? My problem is that I have two different sources with two different parents.....One source lists Samuel Titus and Mary Townsend (daughter of Richard) as her parents. Another source lists John Titus and Sarah Norton. I understand if you don't know that information, but I don't know how to find that data from your site....
Thanks

I have added your website to my favorites and plan to enjoy many hours of browsing. Thank you so much for all the hard work put into it. It is so organized and easy to use. I hope to learn more about my Titus family from Williamsburg, Bushwich and Brooklyn. Many Thanks.
Main Databases

Hello Ken

I have posted the indexes of the main Titus family groups, but not my main databases. The reason for this is that my databases contain names of living people and I do not wish them to be accessable to the public.

The indexes contain the generation numbers, the surnames, first name(s), my file numbers, and the relationships to their families. This should be enough information to allow readers to pick out the names they are interested in. If they are cousins they can then contact me to obtain further information.

By the way, I would like to thank everyone so far for their positive reactions to this site.

Fantastic web site.
One question - am I missing something or is the database not present? I see the indexes but no links to the charts themselves.
Wonderful website

Hi, Bill -- Thanks so much for creating this splendid website! I have a bunch of material relating to my Titus family (my great-grandfather was Edward Coddington Titus) and I'm just beginning to sort through it. Your new website will be very, very helpful!

Hi Bill: I could have sent you an email but I am pleased to say here that your web site is most interesting even if I don't have an odd name. Sites such as yours are a great help to those who want to trace their roots back a few generations.

Best wishes.

Don
